Personal Guided Reading

How it works:

This is a 6-month intentional reading journey where you will read one book per month. We’ll provide a reading guide for monthly discussions and a template for you to complete after each book. We’ll meet with you virtually for three sessions (onboarding, midpoint, and at the end of the series to wrap up and review.)

Do these experiences feel like you:

  • I want to know more about different people but I don’t know where to begin.

  • Sometimes I want to participate in sensitive conversations (for example about disability, identity, cultural beliefs and practices), but I worry I might say the wrong thing.

  • Sometimes I want to ask cultural questions but I’m ashamed that I don’t already know.

If you nodded along as you read, then our Intentional Reading Program is for you.

We offer personal guided reading journeys to help you expand your worldview and take action against personal blindspots, unconscious bias and stereotypical thinking.

The package includes:

  1. Six books each focused on a specific theme that together cover a good range of diverse reading.

  2. A template to complete at the end of each book to help you think deeper about the story and what you have learned.

  3. Two one-hour virtual one-on-one support sessions to unpack the readings. One at the midpoint and the other at the end of the reading journey.

  4. Access to our online book club where you’ll get to discuss with other intentional readers (optional).

  5. Access to author events.

What you will gain

  • Confidence in your efforts to unbias your mind

  • Wider perspective on different cultures and personal experiences

  • Gain the language to participate in difficult conversations

  • Develop empathy for the challenges faced by various groups in your community

  • Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable

What you’ll pay

For six books, three virtual one-on-one sessions, a reading guide and a reflection template, you’ll pay only $270 (before tax).

Are you ready to become an intentional reader and to embark on a journey of learning and unlearning?
